Conservation Tissue

The Collage above was made using conservation tissue. It takes colour beautifully, including these paints and dyes, and becomes transparent when glued with a Matte Medium, allowing underlying layers to become visible and altered. It is surprisingly strong, and can be used as a base for many techniques, including laminating and some involving stitching.

It comes in packs of 5 sheets, each approximately 50 x 75 cm.  Find out more here where there are also more interesting links.

Water-Soluble Fabrics

Newly updated! The pages are clearer, I think. I’d appreciate your feedback.

Machine Embroidery

DSCN3822a

Many of you know that I love to further embellish my work with machine stitching. My favourite threads are not easily available, so I have put together a few packs. There will be more to come, and there are many more colours in the range (hundreds, in fact) so it the selections don’t quite meet your needs you can always get in touch. Find out more about the collection by clicking the picture above or following this link.

Portsmouth College

The exhibition runs over two days, but traders are only there on the Thursday evening 21st March. Join us between 5pm and 8pm, making sure that you let us know in advance if you have specific requirements! This is Jan Tregidgo’s final exhibition as tutor, so there will be a lot to see.  This final student exhibition includes not only this years creative textile work and Bobbin Lace work but is also a celebratory retrospective of work from past students. It’s an odd link, but this is the only page I can find with the address and postcode.

Back at Missenden

We are looking forward to returning to Missenden on March 16th. Give us plenty of notice if you need something specific. In the meantime, you can download the Price List here. It has just been updated.

Today’s News

We are the suppliers at Missenden Abbey on Saturday. Don’t forget to let us know if you need anything specific. I’m teaching at Wey Valley Workshop tomorrow, so an email is the best way to let us know.

I’ve also just listed a number of new colourways of the Sassa threads, they are linked from here, but you will have to keep scrolling down to find them all. All the listings today are unrepeatable collections and two of them have already gone. Click each picture over there to find them, payment is via PayPal.
